Flickr users have an option to turn off “All Sizes” of their photos when uploading them to the image hosting service. If you are the owner of the photo, you’d probably have the original photo stored in your computer, but what if you want to download the original size photo uploaded by someone else?

Fortunately, Flickr API doesn’t have any such restrictions and can be used to get the original size of the image. Get Flickr script uses the same API to make it simple for anybody to download or view the original image. All you need to do is past the Photo ID of the Flickr Photo. For example, if flickr.com/photos/username/2646391262/ is the URL of the photo, then the eight digits following the username is the Photo ID.

If you don’t want people to download the high resolution version of your photos, then the solution is to mark the photo as private while uploading. You can also try reducing the resolution before uploading.
