Lucas must have forgotten that there will be old school Star Wars fans watching this movie which is why he tried to cover his ass by re-writting the timeline. Many events that happened in previous explanations of the clone wars have either vanished completely with no evidence or changed very much. But there is nothing we can do about it now. I myself really liked the movie and am currently LOVING the series, and dont get me wrong, im a complete Star Wars nerd.

Yes kids are not stupid, but they’re not intelligent either. They dont need to see intricate plots unfold before them because odds are they wont undrstand them. As long as they see a few things go KA BOOM! they’ll be ok and they’ll buy action figures and toys. They dont buy or read the books, or research the timeline like hardcore fans, they just love the action. Eye candy is pleasing to a child. Thats pretty much the reason it fits into the timeline as well as I’d fit into an extra small shirt.

The Darkhorse comics have the best stories for the clone wars. The battle for Jabiim, defense of Kamino, the Quinlan Vos story from beginning to end…

Summation: I agree it is for kids. But kids are not stupid. Sure some film must be explained to them, but they’ll get it. They’re little sponges. I also dig the idea that it’s cool to like the kiddie-stuff cuz I was there once. I understand it cuz it’s a part of me. I don’t know what it’s like to be any age older than I am right now. So use what you got; the youthful stuff should still be cool. It’ll help one out when they have kids themselves. Hope that makes sense..damn character-count hehe.

Reading EU material fleshes-out intriguing plotlines. Each novelization of a prequel has an usher of it’s own. TPM has “Cloak of Deception” AotC has “The Approaching Storm,” & RotS has “Labyrinth of Evil.” Each very good in developing further depth; if you care, I guess. Politics plays a very important part. IRL it’s kept the U.S. in & prevented it from winning wars. Watching politicians in SW universe slowly bow to corruption is metaphor rich in appeal. There are ‘Wars’ because of politics.

Question1: Where does it fit in the timeline? I went in not knowing, & left not knowing. Can’t find info online about it either. I read everything i could before RotS; so I know a bit about the order of events. It doesn’t seem to fit. George is rewriting EU material it seems.
Mood is destroyed by the announcer. A non-SW intro replaces the SW feeling.
So TPM sucks eh? I just don’t get it. 2 elements blew; Lloyd’s acting, & some bad editing.
Disagree on politics. It’s all about politics

It IS designed for children!!! Only those reviewers DO NOT GET THAT!!! They only see the bad parts, but there are also good parts!!! So if they stop whining and crying because they think George Lucas is ruining Star Wars, they can actually enjoy it!!!
I don“t agree with the droids however. They do have very funny comments.
And SOMEONE has to do the comic relief!!
choose: it’s either Jar Jar or the droids.
And I do not see what’s wrong with the Phontom Menace(OK Jar Jar) but what more?

THANK YOU BLUNTY
movie critics are snobs that will not even rate something based on who its geared towards
George Lucas dosent care about the reviewers at rotten tomatoes! hes laughing his ass off and screaming FUCK YOU while swimming in his pile of money like scrooge mcduck. George is making money and the rotten tomatoes at the site(the reviewers)are not. Its a movie for kids of course your not gonna like it your a 40 year old slob who reviews movies and has no life!

I liked the movie, it defintley was for kids, i really liked it cause I was 11 at the time. But I’m 13 and I still like it. But I thought the droids were funny, but bothersome. The movie had two really good action scenes. I thought the third star wars was the best, but I like the first half better, and the TV show is pretty good, I am looking forward two the second season. And I am a hardcore star wars fan. And i bought the force unleashed and I love, it was an intense game!

For me that film is a matinee. When I saw this in theater I was 22 and I enjoyed it (while disliked the prequels).
